The Microscopic Moments (To Carry You Through Cryo)
Poem - by Jason Burnham
—their first smile
—when they get sleepy and nestle into your neck before naptime
—the first time they wave goodbye
—squealing in excitement when you get home from work
—their first steps
—their first bike ride
—the first story they read to you
—when they put their arm over your shoulder during nighttime reading
—when the two of them made each other laugh
—when they hug the dog
—“Da-da”
—the weight of them in your arms when you haven’t seen them all day
—the deep breath you can finally take when you’re reunited
