Hello, my name is Sean Briggs and I’m a part of the 2018 Digital Academy. I’m really interested in chemistry and animation, both things that the digital academy revolve around. My favorite class this year is chemistry because of how all answers are exact and how it’s like a big puzzle in my eyes. I enjoy being in the digital academy for the teamwork included and the idea of creating a cool project each year. I have mainly focused on the scientific portions of the project, such as the lab report and logos.

Hello, my name is Catherine Brockner. I am currently a junior at New Fairfield High School and a second year Digital Academy student. Despite the atypical background of my studies, I still managed to develop a fondness for my AP Literature and Composition class. It challenges me to explore the artificial world of renowned fictional writing. In my freetime I am a kickboxer and a painter. I am also a vegan, social change advocate, and hard core environmentalist. In our small group, I have taken on the role of organizing our social media presence and experiment leader as well as other developing roles. I find digital academy to be a conducive environment for a type of learning that I haven't experienced in any other classroom setting.

Hello my name is Nick Mastrocinque and I am a junior in New Fairfield High school. My interests and activities are biking, basketball, and playing video games. My favorite class this year has to be woodworking because of how it's so easy and fun. You also get a lot of time to finish projects. I like being part of the digital academy because there's a lot of hands on work and communication needed for this class. So far I have helped work on creating the prototype for our project, as well as create the twitter account for our team, and blogged what we have been doing.

My name is Amber Perry and I am in 11th grade. I am on the varsity tennis team and I have been on varsity for three years. I enjoy kayaking, the outdoors, and being apart of committees or clubs. My favorite class is my theater workshop class because it pushes me and sometimes throws me outside my comfort zone. I like being apart of digital academy because it’s structure aligns with that of the future. This class helps you work together to accomplish one goal, which is very relatable to the real world. I have contributed to our project by working on our presentations, presenting, helping create our bioreactors, gathered materials, created our logo, brainstormed ideas for a project, did research, went out and tested our survey, and helped create survey questions.

Hello, my name is Drew Von Werne and I am a junior at New Fairfield High School. My interests are mainly outdoors except when it comes to playing Xbox. The activities I enjoy are football, lacrosse and fishing. My favorite class this year is American Studies because it is a split class between English and History and in the class we have talked about how the United States got involved in wars in the past. I like being a part of Digital Academy because it is a lot of group work and I think I work better when paired with someone to discuss the topic. This year I have worked on researching what thrift stores and retail stores do with their unpurchased clothes.

My Name is Alex Waters and I am in the 11th grade digital academy. I specialize in technology and computers. My favorite subjects are math and technology due to what skills they require. My skills specialize in troubleshooting and problem solving. The reason I like being in digital academy is because of the community atmosphere and the project based aspect of the classes. I have been working on the website for our digital academy class.
