Get To Know The Counseling Team

Hello, my name is Alyssa Lopez, and this is my first year as a school counselor at Newark Middle School. The students I work with have last names starting with letters A-P, supporting them with their academic, social-emotional, and college/career needs. I grew up in Newark and attended Newark Middle School! I am excited to serve and give back to the Newark community. I love movies, superheroes, and art/fashion.

I have been a school counselor for seven years now and this will be my sixth here at Newark Middle School. The students I work with are the last names starting with letters Q-Z & Puente, supporting them with their academic and social-emotional needs. I am one of the WEB Advisors and site coordinator of TUPE (Tobacco Use Prevention Education). As a local of the Tri-City area, I am happy to serve and give back to part of the community where I grew up. I love Pokemon, good food, and learning new things.
