Disney 2019

Educational Component: Band and choir will participate in respective workshops led by professional musicians in the park. Students will learn what it's like to be a professional studio musician, participate in a recording session, and record the soundtrack to a Disney cartoon clip.

During the corresponding j-term class, we will learn about cultures related to the Epcot park, work on sight reading exercises to prepare for the clinic, explore composers related to Disney films, and other activities to enhance the trip. More on j-term in the next section.

Cost: $1185 for a quad (4 to a room) occupancy. Our Music Booster organization has elected to credit each student $150 to help defer costs. The total would be $1,035 after the credit is applied.

Fundraising: We offer three fundraising opportunities each year to help students offset the cost of attending. Money earned from fundraising will go towards individual student trip accounts. Music Boosters will send fundraising payments to the travel company upon completion of each fundraiser. Normally we spread them out throughout the year, however, we will be running all 3 in the fall semester before we travel to help kids get as much of their trip covered as they choose.

If you choose not to travel this year, money will be carried over to the next travel opportunity in the 2020-2021 school year.

Security: A private security company to monitor our hotel block. We have chosen to do this again in addition to regular chaperone checks for added peace of mind for parents and students!
