The Chickasaw Spirit Marching Band season starts in August and continues through October. Rehearsals and camps will be held prior to school starting or outside the regular school day. All band members are required to attend rehearsals. Students will need to purchase a pair of black marching shoes, gloves, a flip folder, and a lyre. Orders can be placed through West Music in Cedar Falls or Rieman Music in Mason City.

The concert band is the major ensemble of the instrumental music program. Students will perform a wide variety of band literature from different genres and time periods.

The Spirit Jazz Band is a group of 19-25 students that meets typically on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:00 am. This ensemble will perform at home concerts and have the opportunity to compete at jazz contests in the area. Instrumentation will be determined based on interest.
