THE BASICS

Who is eligible?

All full-time, Netflix Animation Studios non-union employees in the U.K. and their dependents are eligible to enroll in the medical plan. Eligible dependents are defined as:

• Your spouse/partner

• Your children (up to age 24)

MEDICAL

Netflix offers a private medical plan through AXA, so you can make the right decision for your lifestyle and healthcare needs. Netflix will cover 100% of the premium for you. You’re able to add your dependents (spouse/partner and/or children) at additional costs. The plan has £100 excess. Please note that employer-provided private medical insurance is a taxable benefit.

LIFE INSURANCE (DEATH-IN-SERVICE)

In the unfortunate event of your death, Netflix will pay out 3x your basic salary to your assigned beneficiaries. If your annual salary is in excess of £200,000 you’ll need to complete an underwriting process. If approved by the insurance, Netflix will pay out the complete amount, otherwise, it will be capped at 3x £200,000. The amount will be paid out gross and is subject to the LifeTime Allowance limit of £1,073,100; anything above this would incur a tax charge. 

PENSION

You will be automatically enrolled in our company pension scheme after a postponement period, on the 1st of the month of your second full payroll month. The Netflix U.K. pension scheme is with Scottish Widows, and deductions are made from your net monthly salary. Scottish Widows will send out details of your enrollment approximately 15 days after the first deduction is made from your pay.

You have a few options regarding your U.K. pension:

• You can choose to opt-in early (subject to payroll deadlines) from your first full monthly payroll at the default level of 5% via auto-enrolment

• You can choose to opt-in early from your first full monthly payroll and change your pension contribution percentage

  • 1. • • Netflix maintains a match  at 4% of your salary

         • If you decrease your percentage under 5%, Netflix will no longer contribute

• You can opt-out of the scheme within your first 30 days (and opt-in later) 

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

At Netflix, we know you want to produce work you are proud of. In order to perform your best, you have to feel your best. You'll have access to six (6) free counseling sessions, and work-life referrals through the EAP program. 

TIME AWAY

Holidays

• Twenty-eight (28) days of paid holiday each year, inclusive of any public holidays you choose to take off. 

Sick Time

• Up to two (2) weeks of paid absence in any rolling 12-month period. 

Any other time off not noted here will be provided as required by law.
