THE BASICS

Who is eligible?

All full-time, fixed-term, or permanent Netflix Animation Studios employees in Spain. 

HEALTH

Medical benefits in Spain are provided through the National Health System (SNS). SNS provides coverage for general medical treatment, specialists, surgery, emergency treatment, transportation, and hospital and palliative care. Medicines and drug treatment are also included.

Netflix provides a health care and dental benefits plan through Cigna. Netflix will cover 100% of the premium for you and 50% of the premium for your dependents (spouse, domestic partner, and children). This is a taxable benefit. 

PENSION

Netflix offers a Defined Contribution (DC) retirement plan through Allianz. Employees can contribute between 0.5% - 2.5% of their pensionable salary. Netflix will contribute 2x your contribution. 

MENTAL HEALTH BENEFITS

At Netflix, we know you want to produce work you are proud of. In order to perform your best, you have to feel your best. That is why we provide unlimited coaching through Headspace Health; meditation and mindfulness resources through Headspace; and access to free therapy, counseling, and work-life referrals through the EAP. With some health insurance plans, you may be able to utilize your medical benefits for additional therapy visits. Check out your medical plan to see if this is offered.

TIME OFF

Holidays

• Twenty-five (25) days of accrued paid holiday each year.*

*Pro-rated based on your date of hire. 

Public Holidays

• Up to 14 paid public holidays each calendar year.*

*Inclusive of 8 public holidays and any applicable regional holidays.  

Sick Time

• Netflix will top up to 100% for the first three (3) months of sick leave.

Any other time off not noted here will be provided as required by law.

EMPLOYEE GIVING

At Netflix, you have the ability to impact the world through the work you do. And we realize you may also want to make an impact in a more personal way. In the spirit of freedom and responsibility, you choose the eligible organization(s) important to you, and Netflix will match your contribution $2 dollars for every $1 you donate up to $20,000 USD (or local currency equivalent). 

CARE.COM MEMBERSHIP & BACKUP CARE

You’ll have free access to a Care.com membership, allowing you to search for care when you need it. Need help finding care? You can use Care.com’s Expert Assistance feature for additional support in finding the care you need. Lastly, we understand that last-minute things come up. You will have access to 15 days of backup care per year, paid for by Netflix! Use your 15 days of backup care for children, adults, seniors, or even a pet! 

LIFE & SERIOUS INJURY BENEFIT

In the unfortunate event that an employee passes away, Netflix provides a taxable $1.5 million USD Life benefit to the employee's designated beneficiary. The Life benefit provides financial protection for beneficiaries when an employee passes away. We're asked how this benefit came to be, and the answer is simple: When the need arose. After an employee working at Netflix passed away suddenly, Netflix provided a $1 million benefit (this increased to $1.5 million in 2018) to the family to help lessen their worry. That decision has since become Netflix's practice.
