Pacific Alliance Cohort, 2016-2017

Team Chile

Team Chile took advantage of the reform of technical colleges to ensure the institutions’ curricula included more skills, tools, techniques around innovation and creativity, so a greater number of graduate could become entrepreneurs.

Team Colombia

Team Colombia seeked to develop more effective models for accelerating innovation through technology transfer between universities and businesses, producing a practice guide for clusters and government officials.


Team Mexico

Team Mexico formed as a cross-government task force, with the aim of improving the coordination of support for innovation, beginning with the improvement of public policies in the thriving Mexican medical devices industry.

Team Peru

Team Peru focused on creating a new national framework for the evaluation of completed university-industry collaborative projects, analysing the existing data and coming up with new models for decision-making.

South East Asia Cohort, 2018-2019

Team Indonesia

Team Indonesia’s project revolved around increasing the efficiency of regulation in agrotech. More specifically, their aim was to speed up the process of certification for new varieties of paddy seeds.

Team Malaysia

Team Malaysia worked on creating a regulatory sandbox, the Supercluster Sandbox, to develop a framework for better access to, integration of, and sharing of data, focusing on mobility and e-healthcare as proofs-of-concept.​

Team Philippines

Team Philippines aimed at strengthening interdepartmental information sharing by creating a platform to be used by all agencies to support R&D activities.

Team Thailand

Team Thailand's project was to build an open innovation collaborative platform, accelerating innovation policy in Thailand by convening the right stakeholders in the same ‘space’ and promoting collaboration between ministries.

Team Vietnam

Team Vietnam's project aimed at building an efficient bridge for R&D between institutions, governments and industry, namely the Institution-Industry Link, improving university-business links and accelerating research commercialisation.

India Cohort, 2018-2019

Team Maharashtra

Team Maharashtra developed a platform to coordinate and source new ideas for innovation policy from a wider range of people, supporting the development of a comprehensive innovation policy for the whole State of Maharashtra.

Team Ministry of Electronics and IT

Team MEITY created an online platform, allowing for easy coordination and smooth collaboration among all relevant stakeholders in the ICT sector, to support an increase in the commercialisation rate of R&D.

Brazil Cohort, 2018-2019

Team Innovation is Massa!

Team Innovation is Massa! wants to increase the adoption of digital technology in the clothing cluster in order to increase the competitiveness of the sector.

Team InovUP is looking for mechanisms to engage undergraduate students in collaborative R&D projects in order to bring about a stronger entrepreneurial culture.

Team Bind the Gap looks to increase the number of partnerships (projects) between companies and universities in order to improve innovation in the region.

Team Producers of Change wants to increase investment in social innovation in Brazil by trialing successful cases and bring the benefits of innovation to social issues.

Team Ibira-Puera is designing a lean process by which public authorities can procure innovative products and services in order to increase the overall innovativeness of the region.

Team Edupreneuras pilots a skills training to improve the life and entrepreneurial skills of the workforce looking to enter the labour market in order to create a more market and future-fit workforce.
