Moderator
Dr. Lanise Block
Dr. Lanise Block is the Founder & Executive Director of the Digital Empowerment Academy and Founder/CEO of Sankore Consulting.
Dr. Block has varied experience in the education sector. She has worked as a Social Studies teacher, Program Coordinator, Content Lead K-12: Social Studies, Technology Integration Specialist and Strategic Project Administrator with Minneapolis Public Schools.
In addition, Dr. Block is an adjunct professor in the School of Education for the University of St. Thomas, Hamline University Center for Excellence in Urban Teaching ,Augsburg University and Metropolitan State University School of Urban Education
Dr. Lanise Block holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from Drake University. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Teaching, three graduate certificates: one in E-Learning and another in Learning Technologies and a third in Online Teaching. Lastly Lanise holds a Doctorate degree in Critical Pedagogy from the University of St. Thomas.
Dr. Block has publications of her technology integration research and has presented at conferences nationally. Her research interests include digital divide, advocacy and inclusion.
Artists
ezekiel block
Ezekiel Block is a 12 year old rising 7th grader. He enjoys playing the piano, caring for this pet bearded dragon P.J. and creating worlds on Minecraft. Ezekiel is also an avid swimmer completing the Red Cross lessons at the 5th level. Ezekiel is often a featured orator on Youth Sundays at Gospel Temple Church of God in Christ. Ezekiel is the youngest of 4 siblings and lives in the Twin Cities.
patricia lacy-Aiken
Patricia has been singing all her life. As a member of the Minnesota Gospel Twins she sang weekly on ”Your Church Of The AIR” on KSTP for twenty five years and on the “Prairie Home Companion Show” On Minnesota Public Radio for eight years.
Patricia is a long time member of the Grammy Award-winning Sounds of Blackness as well as a backup vocalist with the late great Luther Vandross.
Patricia's versatility in gospel, jazz, stage and theater makes her a much sought after vocalist. She has been featured at such events as the Minneapolis Urban League dinner, Minnesota Twins and St. Paul Saints baseball games, and the Selby Avenue Jazz Festival.
