MATH

"Mathematics may not teach us to add love or subtract hate, but it gives us hope that every problem has a solution."

Algebra: We will have a quiz Tuesday over Unit M, Geometry prep. Students should be able to write equations of parallel and perpendicular lines, simplify radical expressions, solve proportions and equations, and re-arrange formulas.

Geometry: We will have a test Tuesday to end Unit 9, Surface Area and Volume. Students should be able to calculate surface area and volume of 3D figures, including composite figures. Students should also understand how changing dimensions change these properties, how 3D figures can be formed by rotating 2D shapes, and the 2D shapes formed by a cross section.

Tutoring: Thursday before and after school or by appointment. mlund@neisd.net

SCIENCE

Science may set limits to knowledge, but should not set limits to imagination.

-Bertrand Russell

We will continue working on our Physics unit to better prepare our students for high school Physics. We started with one dimensional kinematics, focusing on velocity, position, acceleration, and displacement.

Students will continue working on lab simulations where they can practice manipulating variables such as height, mass, velocity, to determine the effects on other variables. We will focus on how the laws of physics apply to everyday life, keeping the following questions in mind:

Tutoring is offered on Mondays and Fridays from 3:45-4:15.

U.S. History through 1877

We are Living History!

🌎👑☕⚔️📜🏭🏔️🚂☝️💥👇🗳️

90-ish days until Freshman year!

We're cruising along to the end of the year. Your historian will continue their effort to be the best museum curator and design an exciting first exhibition in their digital museum. One other thing: grades are fully updated, and some of your historians never completed or turned in their previous project, the A-Z American History Children's Book. AS always, if it's a "missing" and "0," I don't have it. Points off for lateness is better than a 0!

🌎👑☕⚔️📜🏭🏔️🚂☝️💥👇🗳️

Tutoring is available Mondays, 7:45-8:20 am and 3:45-4:15. Students can also tutor during lunch every day, except Wednesdays
