Honors and GT English


This week we will continue working on our narrative writing essay. We will be revising and editing our rough drafts.  October 6th will be our Unit exam; the focus will be on Fiction.

MATH

7th Grade Honors

This week we will continue with linear functions: proportional and non proportional relationships. Students will write equations in the form y=mx+b

Algebra 1

This week will continue linear functions / equations. Students will write the equation of lines in y=mx+b and determine equations of lines in standard form and point slope form.

This week we will finish up our Cells Unit!! Students will have their EOU "Cell"-ebration of Success on Tuesday of next week. We will then be doing some intro activities into our next unit, body systems!

Honors Texas History


This week the students will finish their unit on the Missions and move on to Mexico trying to gain independence from Spain. During this time we will discuss the French and Indian War and the American Revolution as well as what was going on int Texas.

Reminder: the Mission San Jose Packet can be completed anytime before November 6th.

This week we are learning about and applying the Principles of Design. We will start with Balance, Contrast, Dominant Element and White space and how to apply them to designs. We will cover the other 4 the next week before starting our next project.

This week students are continuing Career Exploration. We are researching a career of the STEM field, discussing what a resume is and why it is important, and role playing how to speak professionally in a job interview. Please practice with your child a mock interview, as they will be assessed at the end of the unit. ***maybe start thinking about a professional outfit they could wear to a mock interview****
