ELAR 7th Grade

Honors and GT English

This week we will complete reading Animal Farm and begin on our propaganda poster project. This is a collaborative group project. Requirements and deadlines will be uploaded into Google Classroom.

MATH

7th Grade Honors

This week we solved equations with the variable on both sides. We also wrote equations from a given problem. 


Algebra 1

This week we continued with solving multi step equations and multi step inequalities as well as converting to slope intercept form. Students took their first test last week.

7th grade Honors SCIENCE

This week we will continue our studies about cells. Students should know the difference between plant and animal cells as well as the structure and function of the nucleus, mitochondria, vacuole, cell membrane, cytoplasm, cell wall, and chloroplast. Extra Credit project has been assigned and is due before 9/29. See project requirements here

Honors Texas History

This week the students will be learning about the Spanish Explorers who made contact with the natives of Texas. We will start a document based assignment on Cabeza de Vaca. We will end the week discussing La Salle and how the French threatened Spanish settlements in Texas.

Digital Media

This week we will be continuing our Unit on Typography. Students will be finishing up their first project and follow that up with a Critique Party. This isn't an actual party; it's my way of getting them to analyze artwork and put their knowledge to use by providing peer reviews of projects.

Robotics Club:

Mondays after school until 4:30.

We will be exploring everything about Photoshop. Students will be creating graphics for "clients." Choosing a partner to interview and record their interest in order to interpret and communicate info and create a poster for their "client." Focusing on communicating effectively, students will be able to fulfil "the job."
