ELAR 7th Grade
Honors and GT English
This week we will begin reading the novel, Free Lunch. Students should be working on their Anthology Project at home. The due date for project is May 17th, this counts as two test grades. Please check in with students as this is counts as a major grade. I will be checking in on their progress on May 10th.

MATH
7th Grade Math Honors
This week we will continue practicing algebra I concepts including solving equations and inequalities. Final Test is 5/21.
Algebra I
This week we will continue practicing geometry concepts including pythagorean theorem to solve for angles and side lengths. Semester exam is 28th n 29th.

7th grade Honors SCIENCE
Classroom wish list ;-)
This week we will continue to talk about human impact on the environment and what we can to to help preserve our planet. Students will begin working on creating an infographic to bring awareness to their chosen topic.

Honors Texas History
This week we will finish our studies of the Dust Bowl and start learning about how Texas contributed to WWII. Since we already had an extensive unit on the Holocaust this unit will be shorter allowing us to shift our focus to the Civil Rights Movement.

In honor of teacher appreciation week, students are creating thank you cards in Photoshop for three DATA teachers that have impacted them. They are also learning to compose emails to go along with their thank you cards.
Then we will be moving on to putting all of their design and evaluation skills to use when they get to Re-design a project they've done this year. They will apply everything learned and use the new skills they've picked up in Digital Media.

Animation using Adobe Animate
AV Comm w/ Mrs. Leyva
I will have a vote to see if students want to have one more animation project or move on to the next unit. If students vote to move on we will start working with AUDIO. We will use Soundtrap to create music! This is a unit filled with creativity, communication, and FUN! If they vote for one more animation unit, we will work together to create something amazing.
