ELAR 7th Grade
Honors and GT English
This week students will continue working on their arguments. They are in the midst of organizing their thoughts into an outline, they will ultimately write a 5-paragraph argumentative essay in MLA format by the end of this week.
MATH
7th Grade Math Honors
This week we will start the new unit on surface area and volume (cylinders, cones and prisms).
Algebra I
This week will be solving quadratic equations using various methods including factoring and the quadratic formula.

7th grade Honors SCIENCE
Classroom wish list ;-)
This week we are continuing to learn about both internal and external adaptations in living organisms. Tuesday and Wednesday are Mock STAAR days where we will be on a different schedule and Thursday students will be completing their course selections for 8th grade in the library with the counselors.

Honors Texas History
This week students will be learning about the Civil War. We will determine the causes, compare advantages/ disadvantages of the North and South, and we will end the week by discussing significant battles in Texas and also the US.

Students will continue learning about the stages of production. We will also review some of the Super Bowl Ads of the past and present to identify camera angles, lighting and editing techniques in popular advertisements.

Jacob's Custom Valentine using Adobe Illustrator

Happy February! This week students will compete in the annual T-shirt Design contest. Students will use Adobe Illustrator to create a design for next year's DATA uniform t-shirt. 8th grade will only have one winner and the student body will make the final vote. In addition, I will continue to teach different tools in Adobe Illustrator each day. Please check Skyward often and make a tutoring plan.
