ELAR 7th Grade

Honors and GT English

This week students will develop the ability to articulate and support their opinions effectively by constructing a well-organized argumentative essay with clear claims, evidence, reasoning, counter claims, and rebuttal. Students will have the freedom to argue a topic that they feel passionate about.

MATH

7th Grade Math Honors 

This week we are reviewing all transformations (translations, reflections, rotations and dilations) to prepare for our test on Friday.

Algebra I 

This week will begin part 2 of quadratics which is solving by using various methods.

7th grade Honors SCIENCE

This week we will be taking our EoU Genetics test on Monday. We will then move into our Adaptations unit. During this unit we will learn about both internal and external adaptations that allow animals to survive and thrive in their environments!

Honors Texas History

This week students will be turning their focus to events leading up to the Civil War including: slavery, sectionalism, and states' rights. We will use the information gained from last week to explain how the North and South were fighting over the land in the West and how slavery influenced this competition.

Digital Media

This week students will be finishing up their Four Shot Film editing. We will continue to focus on our skills in premiere-- preparing students to work on longer editing projects. We will talk about the Production process as a whole including Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production and how those make filming and editing easier.

This week students will compete in the annual T-shirt Design contest. Students will be able to use the program of their choice and their creativity to design a DATA uniform shirt for next year. In addition to creating their one-of-a-kind T-shirt design, they will create a speech on why the class should pick their design for the final 7th-grade vote.
