ELAR 7th Grade

Honors and GT English

This week we will be critically evaluating and assessing the validity, coherence, and persuasiveness of arguments presented in the Case of Trayvon Martin, considering logical reasoning, evidence, and rhetorical strategies to form a well- informed and comprehensive analysis.

MATH

7th Grade Math Honors 

This week we will continue dilations of figures and review the other transformation algebraic representations

Algebra I 

This week we will continue with vertex form converting to standard form and review graphing parabolas.

7th grade Honors SCIENCE

This week we will be finishing up our Genetics Unit. Students will be researching a Genetic Mutation and reviewing for the End of Unit Exam.

Honors Texas History

This week students will be comparing the US and Texas constitutions and learning the principles to better understand how our government works. This will also help prepare them for 8th grade.

Digital Media

This week students are learning about camera angles and how they are used in Film and Video production. Then they will be asked to create their own "Four Shot Film." They will be required to tell a complete story only using 4 still shots that use 4 different camera angles. Students will get to use cameras for the first time and really start learning the film making process.

Ava U's Robot using Adobe Illustrator

This week students will review how to create an Elevator Pitch and practice presenting their pitch to Shark Tank. Students will have to present their 1-minute Elevator Pitch to the class, focusing on the strategies to get the most important information out to the potential buyer.  Later in the week, we will start our T-shirt Design contest for next year's DATA uniform shirts.
