Honors and GT English
This unit's focus is non-fiction, so we will be diving into informational texts on the Holocaust. We will also be learning about the research process. Down a Dark Hall comprehensive exam will be November 13th.

7th grade Honors SCIENCE
Classroom wish list ;-)
This week we are learning about the circulatory (aka cardiovascular) system. Your heart and blood vessels make up the circulatory system. The main function of the circulatory system is to provide oxygen, nutrients and hormones to muscles, tissues and organs throughout your body. Another part of the circulatory system is to remove waste from cells and organs so your body can dispose of it.
Middle of the year MAP testing begins this week and students will be taking the Reading MAP on Wednesday. Our field trip to The Meadows (formerly know as Aquaria Springs) is on Friday 11/17! Please see email from Ms. Jones for chaperone info.

Honors Texas History
This week the students will continue the Holocaust PBL. We will be focused on map, timeline, and chart skills.

We are starting the Holocaust PBL this week. Students will learn about propaganda and then they will create their own Propaganda posters using the design techniques we've learned so far.

This week students will present their Sneaker Ad Campaign. Students created a custom designed shoe in Photoshop, two social media ads geared to a specific audience, created a web page to sell their shoe, and this week they will create a 1 minute "elevator speech" to sale their shoe and ideas to the class. They have been having so much fun exploring different advertising strategies and I cannot wait to hear and see everything come together.
