ELAR 7th Grade

Honors and GT English


This week we will continue reading the novel Down a Dark Hall. Students will have a quiz for every two chapters. There will be an emphasis on Vocabulary, Foreshadowing and Flashbacks.

This week we are learning all about the musculoskeletal system. Students will have a quiz over the Control systems on Monday and Support Systems next week. Students are expected to know the structure (major organs) and function of each system.

Honors Texas History

This week students will be performing their Father Hidalgo raps, poems, or songs. After that we will start the Mexican National Era and learn why people decided to settle in Texas.

This week we are starting our unit on Infographics. The students will learn about the different kinds of infographics there are, what they are used for. They will also learn specific tools in illustrator to help them create their very own infographic.

This week we are creating a business! Students will develop a business with their own logo, menu, and truck design. We will use their business to create job postings and students will get to apply to work for another business and they will also get to hire an employee to help them with their business. This will incorporate our skills of reading job descriptions, creating cover letters, and resumes. We are using multiple platforms for creating, including: Canva, Adobe Express, Photoshop, and the Google Suite. Please ask your student what service or product they are offering as their business!
