Individual Hours
DO's
Going to a service event that is held by a community or service organization
(i.e Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Humane Society)
Refer to individual hours page for more recommendations
DON'Ts
Acts of service that are not hosted by a service organization do not meet NHS requirements.
(i.e Mowing the neighbor's lawn, babysitting)
Donations to an organization do not count toward NHS service hours- hours must include an act of service.
Group Hours
DO's
Going to an event that is specified by NHS as a group hour in either the Google Classroom or via Remind
Refer to the calendar page for group hour opportunities
DON'Ts
An event that is required by your membership of an organization other than NHS (sports teams, or other service organizations) does not count toward NHS group hours.
Attending a service event (that is not advertised as a group hour) with a group of NHS members does not qualify as a group hour. However, it can be an individual hour.
