2023-2024 Officer Applications:
In the spring, information for the 2023-2024 officer application process will be posted below. The process, positions, and expectations will vary from year to year, but the information for officer selection from this past year is posted below to give you an overview or an idea of the officer application process.

2023-2024 Officer Positions:
NHS officers shall be self-nominated members who have consistently met the requirements for good standing membership.
All officers will coordinate weekly community service events, serve as the official representative of the chapter, and participate in any event they are presiding over. All officers are expected to demonstrate self-discipline, self-determination, and skills needed for leadership positions. In addition, each officer is responsible for updating NHS calendar and website weekly, attend all member meetings, officer meetings, setup MPR for meetings, and officiate our annual Induction ceremony.
President:
Preside at the chapter meetings and officer meetings
Call and facilitate meetings
Serve as the official representative of the chapter at school and community functions
Keep the record of community service hours
Communicate with members using Remind alpha A-H
Plan and conduct meetings with other officers
Work closely with chapter advisers regarding chapter activities
Vice-president:
Facilitate in the new member application process
Preside in the absence of the president
Assist in facilitating meetings
Shall also keep a record of members’ contributions to leadership and community service
Facilitate the election of Officers
Communicate with members on Remind alpha I-P
Community Service Chair:
Facilitate in obtaining new service opportunities
Organize and file community service hour forms
Maintain calendar outside Adviser's classroom
Post necessary documents and forms required for some group events
Organize and file community service hour forms
Communicate with members on Remind alpha Q-Z
Secretary:
Keep the minutes and attendance records for meetings
Make Google Slide presentations for meetings
Responsible for all official correspondence
Keep folders outside of Advisers' rooms filled with necessary forms
Keep the record of business expenses, dues, and all other financial transactions of the chapter
Authorize payment vouchers, review purchase orders, and give final approval before invoices are paid
Assist the president and adviser with fundraising opportunities
Historian:
Assist the vice-presidents with the election of new officers
Create monthly video scrapbooks of pictures and articles of NHS activities
Collect and take pictures of NHS members doing service activities for social media accounts and to send to school Principal
Publicity Officer:
Publicize meeting dates and activities in announcements.
Oversee the production and display posters publicizing NHS functions
Submit announcements for 2nd period announcements
