When they first came to Massachusetts, the Schneyderman's lived in an apartment in Brookline while searching for a more suburban environment. The Sncheyderman family decided to settle in Needham Massachusetts right before Mark started his sophomore year of High School. Mark’s first few months at Needham High were turbulent, he was not used to the cliques and drama of American high-schoolers. Mark joined theater in an attempt to assimilate into Needham High and continued to do theater for the rest of high school. When I asked what he thought about the people in Needham High he told me “Needham high is a hive of scum and villainy” I asked why he thought this and he continued, “The people of Needham High don’t act like real people… They are more concerned with who can be the most depraved and socially stunted.” However not every part of Needham was negative for Mark, for instance he is very glad he was able to meet me at Needham High as well as meeting the rest of our friend group there. Mark never fully adjusted to certain aspects of America. He dislikes how material everyone seems to be and talked about this in our interview, "Everyone here is constantly talking about what they want to buy, they are very superficial, very little people express real gratitude for what they have." After graduating from Needham High School, he began attending college at the University of Rochester where he is currently studying math and philosophy. He loves the work he is doing in Rochester right now and is excited to graduate and enter the working world. I wanted to know what the next five years looked like for him, "I want to get out of America, I know a lot of people here but I really don't like a lot of it. hopefully in 5 years I will be somewhere in northern Europe working a good job."
