After setting up a life in White Plains, Tae Young was called back to North Korea to serve in the military. While there, he met his wife, Hyo Jung Kwon. Tae Young and Hyo Jung had their first child, Jung Woo, who began her life in Korea as well. Tae Young served for 2 years as he was required to, then he and his family moved back to America, where he attended Penn in Philadelphia.
Once Tae Young, who now goes by Tai was finished with his two years of service, he moved back to America, and attended the prestigious university of Penn in Philadelphia. After finishing at Penn, Tae Young sent his newborn daughter, Amy, and his wife to South Korea to live with family that had escaped North Korea as well. They did this so that Amy could grow up in Korea and so Tae Young could search for a job without having to support a family. Tae Young then went to Boston, where he searched for a job and attended grad school at Harvard.
After completing grad school at Harvard, Tae Young found a job doing what he loved and brought his family back, settling down in West Roxbury, a neighborhood of Boston, known for its welcoming atmosphere. To this day, Tae Young and his family still live in West Roxbury, while Hyung Ju, unfortunately, passed away in 2013.
