Born in 1953, Hyung Ju Lim grew up in a forgotten village in North Korea. Growing up in post-war North Korea, he was surrounded by lots of communist propaganda. Hyung Ju left his family for college in one of the bigger cities in North Korea. While in college, Hyung Ju started a family of his own, having his son Tae Young Lim (Tony). After becoming educated, he was offered a Job in America, which he took without hesitation, looking to start a new life with his family in America.
Hyung Ju picked up his life and moved to White Plains, New York, where he worked as a businessman and Tae Young attended elementary school. When he moved to America, he fell in love with the game of football, becoming a fan of the Jets and Giants, which he continues to be to this day. In this new world, Tae Young was often discriminated against for his un-American name, so he switched it to Tony, which he went by until he was called back to serve in the Korean Military. He had to do this because all men born in North Korea were required to serve at least 2 years. While Tae Young did this, Hyung Ju moved to Missouri to finish his education and live out the rest of his life.
