Please request that your institution(s) issue an official copy of your transcripts to NEC as soon as possible. Please supply a certified English translation if the original document is not in English. If your transcript has multiple items (for example, Chinese transcripts have a transcript of coursework AND a Certificate of Graduation), please provide an official version of each item with translations into English. Make sure all documents are issued with the institution’s stamp or seal. We prefer to receive translations from the World Education Services or Educational Credential Evaluators.
Remember your transcript must contain the following:
All grades and courses taken.
And, where appropriate, the degree name and the date the degree was conferred.
Transcripts may be submitted in the following ways:
Preferred - NEC accepts electronic copies of transcripts that come directly from the issuing institution. They should be sent to admissions@necmusic.edu. NEC does not accept electronic transcripts from students.
Official transcripts (in sealed envelopes issued by the institution) can be mailed to the following address:

Your application portal currently displays a checklist item for your Final Transcript. When we receive your documentation, it will be marked complete.
Please note that failure to send us your transcripts in a timely manner may impact your ability to register for classes.
By August 15, transfer credit evaluations will be available to students who have submitted official transcripts and/or AP score reports as directed above.
Please be in touch if you have any questions or concerns.
NEC can transfer up to 6 credits of AP scores for undergraduates who earned scores of 4 or 5 on the AP Test. Please submit your official score report through CollegeBoard. We are unable to transfer the music AP test.
NEC accepts both HL and SL IB scores, though only scores of 6 or 7 will be awarded credit. We are able to award up to 6 credits total for IB scores, and these will be applied toward elective credits.
To send your IB scores, please follow these directions copied from the IB.org site:
"When results are released, they will be made available to institutes via an IB secure website, or on a paper transcript if the institute does not make use of the IB secure website.
IB graduates can request that transcripts be sent to institutions directly by placing a request through rrs.ibo.org.
In addition to requesting a transcript be sent to universities, you may have to request that your results and/or certificate be legalized. Read more about legalization."
