Incoming freshmen play a pivotal role in the ND/Res Music Program as you keep the program alive and running. The more students that come in and join the program will ultimately lead to more opportunities and success for every student. You are essential to the future of ND/Res Music. Please consider finding out more about us, what we have to offer, and what we are about.
Currently the band meets every day from 7:15 - 7:55AM and Tuesday evenings from 4:00 - 6:00PM. The band puts on several performances throughout the year at a variety of venues including both Notre Dame College Prep, Resurrection High School, Chicagoland grade schools, Lemont High School, Brother Rice School, and many more.
If you are interested in shadowing at Notre Dame College Prep or at Resurrection College Prep High School, please contact Mr. Baltzer at kbaltzer@nddons.org.
While The Notre Dame/Resurrection Bands welcome band students with a wide variety of experience from either starting in 8th grade or playing piano since they wee 5 years old, it is important for each incoming member to have a foundational knowledge of musical vocabulary and terms. Incoming members should either have a general idea of what each term means on the packet found below as well as be able to perform the particular rhythms and scales OR spend time over the summer practicing and preparing the terms, scales, and rhythms that may not be as familiar in order to enter into the program with a solid foundation of knowledge.
The music program here begins with Marching Band immediately in the Fall throughout football season and transitions to Concert Band in late October/early November.
The Band fees are $200. These fees cover all travel expenses for band performances, uniform parts such as marching shoes & band polos, and other band related items throughout the year.
Nearly every student in band currently is involved in something other than band. We currently have a football player, a basketball player, several track & field member, wrestlers, and just about every club, sport, and activity included in band. It is highly encouraged to be involved in as many ways as possible while at NDCP.
A mentor student is selected by Mr. Baltzer that plays the instrument that the beginning student is interested in learning in and they work together on a daily basis on the fundamentals of that instrument.
You can reach out to Mr. Baltzer at for more information or if you have any questions about the program.
