ABSENCE INFORMATION

If a student misses a required performance (sports, concerts, recruitment, parade, etc.), please use the information provided below to earn the points missed from the performance. In the event of a scheduling conflict with a performance, the student needs to complete an "Absence Request" form that can be found on this page or in the ND Band Room. If you choose to print out the form at home, please complete it and turn it in to Mr. Baltzer.

Once the "Absence Request" form is signed by a parent/guardian, submitted, and approved by Mr. Baltzer, a make up assignment will be given along with a video performance. The student will be given a prompt to write a reflection on the given performance. The student will then have one week from when they return to submit the make up assignment to earn the missed points.

REMIND

The Notre Dame Band Program uses Remind to provide announcements, give schedule changes, in addition to other pertinent information. Click here for instructions on how to join the Remind service via the Remind app, text, or email.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM

Each music class at Notre Dame College Prep uses Google Classroom for assignments and other various announcements.

SOUNDCORSET

Soundcorset is used as a tuner and metronome both in and out of class. It is a free app that can be downloaded on a variety of devices including iPhone, Android, iPad, etc.

SOUNDBRENNER

Soundbrenner is a metronome and tuner app that is used both in and out of band rehearsals. The app is compatible with a variety of devices including but not limited to iPhone, Android, & iPad.

FLIPGRID

FlipGrid is a video recording app that allows students to share content not only with one another for collaboration but also for assignment submssions. The ND/Res Bands use FlipGrid for large assignment submissions such as final unit playing tests, semester finals, and more. Each student has a unique FlipGrid ID that provides them access to their account and the classes they are linked to in FlipGrid.

SOUNDTRAP

Soundtrap is an audio recording app that allows the user to record, edit, collaborate, and share audio recordings. Every student in Symphonic Band and Honors Symphonic Band should have this app downloaded onto at least one device. Soundtrap is used to record duets, chamber music, playing assignments, and more in and out of class.

SMARTMUSIC

SmartMusic is a music software program designed to assist in practice and aid in overall assessment of student performance. The program allows the student to perform using a variety of features including playing with just their specific part, playing with an accompaniment of an entire band, or playing by themselves. The subscription that each student in Symphonic Band and Honors Symphonic band has includes a wide array of practice options from sight reading to a music library of over 5,000 selections. Students should join the Notre Dame/Resurrection Band class by entering in class code "P47VC-XV6ER".
