I currently coordinate the agenda for food, activities, and entertainment to teach Spanish culture and language. Through my participation and involvement in Spanish club, I am able to share my love for Spanish while learning how to take responsibility and set a good example for underclassmen. My leadership through Spanish club has further strengthened my interest in potentially minoring in linguistics or Spanish in college.
As a member of Model United Nations, I attended the Ivy League Model United Nations Conference (ILMUNC) in 2019 representing Egypt in Economic Affairs. There, I debated and negotiated our way to a resolution on a variety of problems ranging from Regulation of Cryptocurrency to Food Security in Developing Nations. Below are my partner's and I's position papers on the following topics.
As a native of Philadelphia, I am always looking for ways to give back to the community that has given me so much. Project HOME is a non-profit organization that empowers individuals to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through affordable housing, employment, health care, and education.
The summer before my sophomore and senior year, I had the privilege to participate in Project HOME's summer service learning program. During these weeks, we engaged in service with Project HOME and other organizations, learned about issues of poverty and homelessness, and built relationships with people working towards social change and who experienced poverty and homelessness.
