There are categories from which you can choose to earn a total of 10 hours for this semester. You must choose one from each category AND then you can choose to finish the rest of the hours from either category. You are welcome to do more. This is designed to help you inwardly on a spiritual level and then to express outwardly your understanding through acts of indirect service that can be done at home. All of the options are already entered in x2VOL under the Opportunities tab. Choose 'my opportunities' and this list will appear giving you more information. KEEP SCROLLING BELOW!
NOTE: Freshman, your theology teacher will arrange to introduce you to x2VOL and on board you For now, you can get started and then we will get you squared away on our service platform called x2VOL.

To participate in these drives, educate yourself by reading the articles connected to the topic by clicking on the link. Dates for drop off are listed on each page. Click on the link to find out what exactly to bring/donate and where to drop it off. Once the drive is over, you can no longer participate.

- 2 HOURS: NDA SPONSORED ENCOURAGE MAKING
2 HOURS: Encourage Kindness Rocks
In this NDA sponsored activity, you will be making 4 kindness rocks (large or 8 small) by finding, prepping, painting and giving your rocks to someone who needs a lift. You can use the paint markers from your class retreat or other materials if you have them. You supply the rocks, the creativity and the inspiring message.
When finished, take a photo of YOURSELF and the 5 Rocks and upload that to x2VOL. Be sure to write a brief reflection on what struck you about kindness and invisible service and why on x2VOL.
2 HOURS: Encourage Candle Holders
In this NDA sponsored activity, you decorate 4 votive candle holders with inspiring messages of gratitude and support. You supply the votive candle holder, the creativity and the inspiring message! Use your paint pens from your class retreat to make the world a better place. Be sure to give your finished product to someone who needs a boost!
When finished, take a photo of you with your votive candle holders and upload to x2VOL. Then, reflect on the meaning and connections between Jesus, the Light of the World and Christian service.
HOURS VARY: Encourage at Home
In this NDA sponsored activity, NDA recognizes that some students are caring for family members at home while their parent/s are contributing as essential and frontline workers. If you are caring for siblings or other family members during the day while your parent/s are at work, helping with meals or homework, please reach out to me at eward@ndala.com.

A. 2 HOURS: DEEPEN YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF SCRIPTURE
LISTEN/WATCH ONE/ SEVERAL OF THE FOLLOWING TO EARN 10 HOURS or MIX AND MATCH WITH OTHER OPTIONS.
During which you would choose from the menu of approved audio/videos, watch the video and write a brief reflection on x2VOL telling about what struck you the most and why as you deepen your faith, and understanding of Jesus Christ.

Then, write a summary of 3 things you learned from watching this. Be sure to connect your reflection to your religion class content.
2 HOURS: Watch entire series of Essentials of the Catholic Mass piece by piece (short 1-5 min episodes), click here. Then write a summary of three things you learned from watching this. Be sure to connect your reflection to your religion class.
