Graduate School: Dr. Joseph Powers
Engineering is a field in which graduate degrees are very common. However, it is often difficult for students to know where to look for the proper information when they are considering pursuing graduate school. Dr. Powers gave compelling reasons to further engineering education past an undergraduate degree, explained different aspects of the application process, and answered questions pertaining to higher education in engineering.
Undergraduate Research: Dr. Glen Niebur
Dr. Niebur and some undergraduate research students talked about how to get involved in engineering research on campus. They discussed reaching out to professors and the questions to ask once contact is made.
Creativity and Innovation in Academia: Dr. Pierre Larochelle
Dr. Larochelle explained the process of becoming a professor and the pros and cons involved. He spoke about his personal experience in academia and his "academic family."
