Incentive information
Typically counselors have to pay for their own CEUs and continuing education; however, that is not the same in technology fields. The Keystone C4C team included compensation for counselors' involvement in the grant because we know the crucial role of school counselors and believe school counselors have a large capacity to effect change in the commonwealth when equipped with this Computer Science Career information.
Due to the nature of regulations and processing paperwork, please note the following things about payment:
Participants will need to complete a W-9 and either work or live in Pennsylvania. Education graduate students, teachers, administrators, school counselors, and professors are eligible.
The W9 only needs to be done once. Your document will be only sent through Millersville University email to one person, ebkenny@millersville.edu (but for an added layer of protection, we recommend that you get an EIN instead of using your SSN).
$50 Evaluation Stipend: The link to the evaluation of each program will be posted to attendees at the end of the program and must be completed within two days.
$50 Action Plan Stipend: Each program will have an activity to aid in the application of what you learned which you must submit within a week. https://bit.ly/PASmartActionPlan
Stipends will be combined and processed three times a year (1/2024, 2/29/2024, 4/26/2024). You will get one check total for everything you attend 10/2023-12/2023 or between 1/2024-2/2024, and between 2/2024-4/2024. It takes several months to process & mail checks. The total amount and progress can be confirmed at any time by contacting Millersville Graduate Assistant Ms. Kenny at ebkenny@millersville.edu
Travel for in-person events:
If you indicate you need travel reimbursement on your registration, you will be contacted to start the paperwork. You can get travel for one program if you are about 50 miles or over from the program.
Travel follows state guidelines for hotel, mileage, tolls, and meals (no alcohol can be on the check).
Travel reimbursement for in-person events will be processed directly following the event; however, the stipend for those in-person events will be processed at the same time as the virtual program stipends. So you will get two different checks, one for travel and one for stipends.
