Step 1: Creating your FSA ID
Student AND parent must have their own FSA ID logins.
You can create an FSA ID at www.fsaid.ed.gov
Step 2: Begin your FAFSA application for 2019-2020
Student will log in to FAFSA using their FSA ID account information.
First half of the application will be questions about the student, the second half will be questions about the parent(s).
Materials to have:
Student and parent Social Security Number
Parent's 2017 tax information and W-2's
Student will also need 2017 tax information IF they worked
Note: If your parents do not have a social security number, you will put in all 0's
Step 3: Submit FAFSA and make sure it was processed successfully
You can expect to receive an email notifying you if your FAFSA was processed successfully or if there was an error. Make sure you check your email on a regular basis to ensure that your FAFSA was processed.
