The course has increased my knowledge of geospatial statistics. I have learned how to georeference and integrate CAD datasets in the ArcGIS environment. The mapping of location data with accurate geocoding techniques helps increase spatial details. Based on what I learned from this class, I can now differentiate between geocoding to zip-code and streets. I now have a clearer view and understanding of spatial pattern analysis ranging from how different tools work, their applications, and the interpretation of results. Initially, I found some of the processes challenging. However, it is interesting how the difficulties encountered serve as the motivation for trying harder because I learned so many things while trying. I also learned a more advanced way of performing weighted suitability modeling using different approaches. I hope to apply this knowledge to solve some of the real-life problems mentioned in each application section of my assignments. Spatial statistics provide an advanced modeling method and inference techniques for drawing conclusions from geographic data. I am also hoping to apply this knowledge and techniques in my research. One of the exciting parts of the course is the ability to connect each analysis to similar real-life scenarios. I will continue to build upon the knowledge gained from this course as I pursue my career. I believe that there will continue to be changes in data quality, improvements in geospatial software, and continuous changes in computing speed and storage for better visualization of geospatial datasets to solve problems. I hope to continue to be a significant part of this evolution in geospatial statistical analysis through my personal research or as an organizational team member.Â
