Dedication

SolarSpace is dedicated to Mr. Sean Fokes, an incredible Facilities staff member who devoted much of his time to working with and supporting students.

Sean was an Energy Engineer for DASA Facilities. He consulted with the Stewards on the feasibility of using the previously owned solar panels in a new project. From before the grant for the project was even drafted, to deciding on the location of the panels—SolarSpace truly would not be the same without Sean. He was a friend, a mentor, and an inspiration to always think big.

A fond memory we all share together is when Sean helped the Resource Conservation Group with a highly impactful renewable energy demonstration that involved using a solar panel (one of the ones that ended up on SolarSpace) to power a small waffle iron!
