I worked with teammates Natalie Faulkner, Daniel Onuoha, Emily Sugg and Daniel Watson on creating a novel biotechnology business idea as part of our Spring 2022 capstone project for the MMB program. As a team, we developed microbite: a hypothetical R&D-focused company that develops bacteriophage coatings for aquaculture feed. Our focus is primarily on using our products to treat bacterial cold water disease in trout and vibriosis in Atlantic salmon. With further R&D, we would expect to target other diseases in aquatic species including tilapia, shrimp, and catfish.
