Ram’s teaching interests lie in the intersection of data science and marketing applications with the overarching idea of teaching students how to harness business intelligence from data. Ram's teaching portfolio includes courses such as marketing analytics, data mining, database marketing, pricing analytics, marketing research and doctoral seminar on marketing models. Ram currently teaches graduate-level courses on marketing analytics and machine learning at NC State. Prior to joining NC State, Ram was on the faculty (tenured) at the Darla Moore School of Business School, University of South Carolina (USC) and Mays Business School, Texas A&M University where he taught several analytics courses at the undergraduate level, MS in Marketing, MBA, PMBA and EMBA programs.
Ram was chosen as the best elective course faculty by the MBA students at the USC in 2022. Ram developed and offered new graduate-level courses on marketing analytics and pricing analytics at Texas A&M University. He was conferred with the Association of Former Students Teaching Achievement Award (Texas A&M University, Mays Business School) for his outstanding teaching contributions.
