COM 354 - Critical Media making

April 27th, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm

at the Visualization Gallery, Hill Library

Instructor: Dr. Fernanda Duarte

In COM354 - Critical Media Making, students build speculative media objects as a way to challenge normative frameworks, imagine equitable realities, and exercise critique. Throughout the semester, students engaged with various media-making exercises as a strategy to produce critiques of relevant social issues. Projects include logo design, stickers, dust jacket design for banned books, new versions of posters for censored movies, stop-motion animation and video remixes. This Spring showcase features work by Jada Allen, Chell Bonet, Max Castro, Ava Dodge, Josh Dombkowski, Aidan Flynn, Charlotte Gillman, Harris Gregg, Milan Hall, Hannah Moxey, Tony Nardelli, Ethan Ramirez, Riley Shaak, Miles Simpson-Quiley, and Sami Zito.
