I am currently helping plan a service trip with my cohort to Jacksonville, FL. The goal of our service trip is environmental justice and I am helping plan two different aspects of the trip; lodging and a volunteering activity for one of the days that we will be on our trip
The biggest skills I have developed so far are definitely timeliness/organization and persistence. Beyond college I plan to use timeliness/organization in my familial life when I eventually have kids and also a career. I'm expecting my career to be time consuming but learning how to organize my time now will help so that I'm not neglectful with my family. Persistence will be used because life isn't easy. I try to do as much as I can to get the best outcome for my life. I work late and I wake up early, doing my best for my future self because I know that my goal is so worth it and this is my passion, but I also know that life has it's own ups and downs. Through the skill of persistence I will keep trying no matter what life throws at me.
CLDP has caused me to plunge first into organizational leadership and taking all the leadership traits that I've learned from my family and putting them to use in an academic setting. It has also helped me take charge of my future and begin seeking out more leadership roles so when I graduate and apply to gradschool I'll be a more competitive applicant
I definitely plan on seeking more prominent academic leaderships as I continue to grow as a leader. In the future my ultimate goal is to lead a research team as we discover more about psychology and answer a research question that I've come up with
