Jamaya Johnson

Hello!

My name is Jamaya Johnson and I am currently a second-year undergraduate student at North Carolina State University. I am currently majoring in Psychology with hopes to obtain my Ph.D. in Social Psychology and pursue a career as both a college professor and researcher. 

I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and knew that I would like to pursue a higher education one day, and in the fall of 2021, I became the first person in my family to go to college. Pursuing a degree in psychology is my way of becoming a leader in the sense that I hope to explore the intersectionality between social and abnormal psychology to reduce stigmas around receiving mental health resources and help communities with mental health disparities seek the help they need. 

After reviewing my portfolio, I hope you can see that I am growing into a well-rounded leader, day by day.
