InfuseCS is freely available to educators seeking to promote upper elementary students’ learning in computational thinking and physical science. The InfuseCS team collaborated closely with teachers and students at partner schools in North Carolina and California throughout the design, development, and implementation of the learning environment. Using InfuseCS, students solve physical science problems by identifying relevant facts, conducting scientific investigations, and developing interactive science narratives that reflect their problem-solving experiences. Through this process, students build understanding of key physical science concepts and computational thinking practices. The classroom-friendly activities are designed for classroom settings and are supported by a curriculum that integrates a narrative-centered learning environment with maker activities.
Resources for educators, including lesson plans and slide decks for classroom use, are available via a Google Drive folder. The narrative-centered learning environment can be accessed online using web browsers via go.ncsu.edu/infusecs-env.
