Sprout is a fund created by a private funding from a 4-H alumna who attributes much of her life success to her early foundation of supportive parents, devoted club leaders, and empowering 4-H experiences. The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for young people to attend residential camp with Alamance 4-H and to support teens wanting to pursue leadership opportunities within 4-H.
This scholarship will be presented, initially, to two 4-H members between the ages of eight and seventeen to assist with the cost of residential camp taking place at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center in Reidsville, NC. Funds may be used towards the Traditional, Adventurer, or Trekker camper experience or BJPs Leaders in Training program.
The intention of the scholarship is to encourage a diverse camping population and to provide opportunity for all without regard to financial resources. The scholarship will not discriminate based on race, color, National origin, religion, political beliefs, family and marital status, gender, veteran status, sexual identity, sexual orientation, genetic information or disability.
Applications will be accepted from March 1st, 2026 through May 31st, 2026.

This award will recognize Alamance County 4-H members, ages thirteen to eighteen, who are actively involved in 4-H and demonstrate a commitment and passion for developing their leadership skills. The recipient will have gone above and beyond to learn about 4-H, participate in 4-H activities, and exemplify 4-H values. Awarded funds will be used towards the costs associated with attending 4-H Congress in July 2026.
