The Girls' Basketball Team went on a 7-game win streak, culiminating with a 37-29 win at home against Conrad. The girls were led by Madison Bishop with 10 points and 3 rebounds. Mia Lang added 8 points and also had 4 rebounds and 5 steals. Imani Harrell had 8 of her own and also added 4 steals. Morgan Bishop had 5, Brooklyn Miller had 3 and Oliva Price, Regina Miller and Raniyah Harmon each had a free throw.
The Boys' Swim Team is 9-1 on the season and are coming off of a huge win over strong contender, Charter School of Wilmington. Cameron placed first in the 50 free, James scored highest in diving, Finn placed first in 500 free, and NCS took the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. The team takes on Middletown on Thursday at the Boys and Girls Club on rt 40.
The Girls' Swim Team is 7-3 on the season with recent wins over Archmere and Conrad. The team will also take on Middletown this Thursday.
This past weekend the indoor track and field team traveled to Staten Island, New York to compete in the Ocean Breeze Invitational - the largest high school indoor meet in the country. Timmie Claessens and Shayla Kluizenaar took advantage of the great competition to set new school records in the boys and girls mile. Both athletes placed in the top 8 in their event sections as well. The following Patriots also had strong performances in their respective sections: Stephen Williams (3rd boys 800 meters); Chaz Pertain (7th boys 9th grade 200 meters); Leah Walters (3rd) and Ella McDermott (7th) girls mile; Chrissy Ballard (10th girls 55 meters). MJ Olaleye became the third fastest 200 meter runner in school history, and Ava Kozlowski hit the automatic state qualifying standard in the girls pole vault.
The Unified Basketball Team is 3-1-2 on the season. If you are looking for a great game, with tremendous sportsmanship from both teams, then come on out to their game Monday, February 9th at Mt. Pleasant.
The wrestling team finished 10-2 on the year during the regular season. This is the best finish NCS wrestling has ever seen.
We took on CSW and established we were the better wrestling school with a 42-31 win. Big Wins coming from Bobby Ritterbeck, Trent Woodland, Ryan Risko, Aarya Sethi, Blake Loyd, Ahemd Shehata, Liam Normington, and Kyree Haughton.
NCS Girls had their first dual meet at home but ultimately fell to CSW by a score of 21-12 (loss). Big Wins coming from Dhalia Delong and Savannah DeFilippis.
Boys JV followed suit and would also lose 36-0 to CSW.
Big match versus #4 ranked NCS and #5 ranked Caravel. We had to play around with weights to make the best possible line up with being down 3 starters. We ended are regular season with a loss, 49-22. Big wins coming from Bobby Ritterbeck, Ryan Risko, Conner Risko, and Uriah Thompson.
We are in position to get a bid team dual states, but we won’t find out what seed we are until Monday night 2/9/26. Go Patriots!!!
