Hi, it’s Mrs. Kristi Adkins here and I am so excited about this new school year.  It’s going to be one incredible year of exploring, learning, laughing, yes laughing, working hard, challenging one another, cheering for one another, and achieving greatness together. 

I want to take a moment to share a little bit about myself.  I love getting to know you, therefore, it only makes sense that you know me as well. 

My husband, Greg, and I have been happily married for 25 years and we have been blessed with 4 beautiful daughters.  Our oldest daughter is a 5th-grade teacher at Lucama Elementary.  Logan, our second oldest daughter, is a Senior at NCSU Majoring in Textiles, and our twins, Kathryn and Caroline, are Seniors in high school.  Yes, we are a very busy family but we also love every minute of it!  We are involved in our church and community and always love a fun adventure.  We also have two sweet fur babies, or should I say pugs, named Bentley and Bailey.  We live in Wilson, love being active, having family game night, going to sports events, and we especially love traveling to the mountains and to the beach.

I attended East Carolina University where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Science. I am certified in Elementary Education K-6, Science Education k-12, and AIG K-12.  I taught fourth grade for eight years and this is my 21st year as an AIG facilitator.   I am honored to say that my entire teaching career has been right here in Nash County.  You can definitely say that I am a vested member of our community!   I feel truly blessed to work with so many amazing young scholars who are so passionate about discovering new things, making unique connections, and stepping outside their comfort zone!
