I hope you will consider volunteering your time and talents this year. I sincerely couldn’t do what I do without the generosity of this great community. If you’d like to volunteer in the upcoming school year, you will need to follow the district's process for getting vetted. I’ve outlined the steps on my website, WillyDolan.com under the “volunteer” section. It would help tremendously if you got a head start on this ASAP. Here are some ways I need YOUR help!
Fundraising Can you help us plan an auction, bake sale, car wash, etc.? I have a “vision” but lack some of your organizational skills! Are you part of a business that could donate goods or services for an auction?
Chaperone Would you like to join us at our upcoming choir tour, choir retreat, or field trips? You will have a lot of fun getting to know these great students!
Booster Club Are you interested in helping us set up a non-profit organization, or to be on the board to support the music department at Milwaukie? Music programs around the country rely on such organizations to help oversee a number of key tasks. In the past, I’ve attempted to do most of the work myself, which has proven to be impossible. Without a booster club, I can’t do basic things like set up a Paypal account to accept online donations. I have to use district-approved vendors, who take up to 20% of any donation. Eek! A booster club would be so helpful for working within the parameters of the district while providing a ton of much-needed flexibility.
All volunteers must complete an online application and submit forms. Once an application is processed, volunteers will be notified via email that their application has been approved.
✓ Complete the confidential Volunteer Background Check.
✓ Complete the choir Volunteer Interest Form.
This completes all the necessary steps for volunteering. Thank you!
