Rediscovering Lexington's Heroes 

Lexington, the iconic birthplace of American freedom, attracts many people who are eager to hear the stories of the Minutemen and the beginnings of the Revolutionary War. However, most visitors only know and recognize the major monuments and memorials near the visitor center. There are many other prominent figures who have contributed greatly to our community, yet haven’t received recognition. Lexington wanted to encourage people to also visit the lesser known monuments and memorials to enrich their knowledge about the history of this town. The MMC is charged with creating an inventory of every monument and memorial in the town. This is a big task and has never been done before. We heard about this project and thought it’s a good opportunity to use our computer science skills to help the community. We want to build a public platform to revive the stories of Lexington’s forgotten heroes who deserve to be commemorated for their heroism and sacrifices.
