North Carolina Central’s Residency Education for Licensure (REL) is a model designed to assist residency candidates with meeting residency licensure requirements. REL participants can complete coursework with 8 courses with continuous enrollment. REL participants must follow a plan of study and remain enrolled until completion. Eligibility for a Residency License
A bachelor's degree.
A 2.7 cumulative GPA.
AND
24 semester hours of coursework in the requested licensure area or passed the content area examination(s) required by the N.C. State Board of Education for the requested licensure area.
AND
Current employment as a full-time teacher.
