Students are given a writing prompt from the library once a month. This encourages them to write, but it is not a required activity. The submitted stories will be included in the yearly Young Writers booklet and earn a student a prize from the library prize box. All stories must be given to Mrs. McConahy by the last day of the month. The student with the most stories submitted throughout the year will receive the Young Writer Award and a medal. For more specific information on this month's writing prompt, email Mrs. McConahy at librarian@nccaed.org.
Students must be in Grades 1-8 to participate.
The story must be at least 5 sentences long.
The story must fit the prompt.
Adults can help a 1st or 2nd Grade student to write their story.
Stories may be submitted in person at the library, emailed as a photo of a handwritten story, or emailed as a typed copy of the story to librarian@nccaed.org
Please include the name and grade of the student in the submission.
