Collaborating with young people in the workplace - Frances Dee

This workshop covers collaboration with young people in the workplace through hosting and supporting placement opportunities. We will be looking at the practical elements of engaging with young people including making reasonable adjustments, implementing best practices, and how working with young people can build skills for the future. Working with a young person through placement schemes offers learning and development opportunities for both participants and yourselves. 

I hope you will leave the session with new knowledge around collaborating with young people, and more confidence to support engagement activities during your career. The session will include group work and interactive tasks.

Building a software and computing community  -  Sadie Bartholomew, Nicola Farmer, Laurents Marker

This workshop will bring together staff who work within software and computing, with the aim of beginning an active community within the early careers cohort. We will find commonalities between attendees such as coding languages the write in, the projects that they contribute to and the infrastructure that they work on. We will set up channels of communication and work groups that will enable the community to grow following the workshop.
