Homework Expectations:
Every night students should:
-Work no more than a total of 40 minutes per evening
-Read at least 20 minutes and fill in the Reading Log

-All written work (including the Reading Log) should be written using complete sentences, including proper capitalization and punctuation.
-Math in the Math Workbook, daily problems as listed in student's planner and below:

Tuesday, January 20th: Math Workbook pages 139-141, odd problems
"Hire" and editor for your IEW rough draft!
Wednesday, January 21st: Math Workbook pages 140-141 evens problems, 2 & 4
"Hire" and editor for your IEW rough draft - it's due tomorrow!
Thursday, January 22nd: Math Workbook pages 142-144, odd problems 1, 3, 5.
Bring back your edited IEW rough draft to finish the final draft tomorrow!
The acronym RAW MEAT is what students have been learning and using to work through each problem thoughtfully:
Read the problem
Analyze the information (What do I know? What do I need to know?)
Write the answer sentence (to keep in mind what we're solving for)
Model (create bar models)
Express the algorithm (do the math)
Answer the question (put the answer into the answer sentence)
Test your answer (ask, Does my answer make sense?)
