Learn to Swim and Water Safety Program
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Robert Wood Johnson Fitness and Wellness Center and the New Brunswick Public Schools have formed a partnership to provide a program entitled: “Learn to Swim and Water Safety Program”. Your child entering grades 9-12 in September of 2025, is eligible, with your permission, to participate in a five week learn to swim and water safety program this summer. Upon successful completion of this program and passing of a prerequisite swim test, your child may be eligible to enter a lifeguard certification course.
Lessons will be offered from 1PM-2PM Mondays-Thursdays, with transportation provided by the school district (if needed). Pick up will begin at 12:15PM and drop off approximately 2:45PM from home schools (closest to your home.) Students enrolled in summer school are eligible for the Learn to Swim Program.
Session dates are as follows and will be filled on a first come first serve basis:
Week 1: July 7-10
Week 2: July 14-17
Week 3: July 21-24
Week 4: July 28-Aug 1
Week 5: Aug 4-7
Lifeguard Course-Pending Acceptance: Aug 11-14
PLEASE NOTE:
Basketball shorts, dance/gymnastics costumes etc. are not accepted.
Underwear is not to be worn under bathing suits.
All long hair should be tied back and those with extra long hair should braid it into at least one braid.
Goggles are recommended but NOT required
Without a waiver and appropriate swim attire, a child will be denied participation.
