This year in social studies, topics covered will be European colonization, the founding of the American Colonies, the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, and Westward Expansion.

Students are currently learning about the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island. They are beginning their investigation into what could have happened to the lost colony. They will learn about different theories about the fate of the colonists and then write about which theory they believe and provide evidence to defend their belief!

Homework/Test Correction Policy

- Students are encouraged to make corrections to their homework assignments and are able to earn 100% of the credit back.

Class Grading and Procedures

Students are graded in three different categories: homework, participation, and assessments/projects. Homework assignments are expected to be completed at the beginning of class on the due date. Students will always be provided with at least 15 minutes in class to start their homework assignments. After I have graded the homework assignments, the students have the choice to make corrections to earn credit back.
